Thankful Thursday: Homecoming and Reunion

"You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and loved more than you know" ~A.A. Milne

Yesterday hubby was making forts with the girls and I took a nap.  Oh how sweet it is to see them playing together!

It’s been a year since he packed his bag
To fight for the Rugged Old Flag
Well done, my soldier, your mission’s complete
It’s reunion time now – oh how sweet!
The bus turns the corner and you see them there
Smiling and jumping; flags waving in the air
Step off the bus, kneel down, open arms wide
Hearts are bursting with American pride
Hugs and kisses; tickles and tears
Those laughs; it’s music to your ears!

Welcome home hubby, daddy, and hero!!!!

Tot School Tuesday: Fall Fun and Reset Week

It seems as though it has been one thing after another lately, so we relaxed quite a bit on school these past two weeks.  I bought some baskets for $1 a piece at our local thrift store and put together a fall sensory basket for the girls.  They have had a blast with it.

I also went to the library and checked out about 20 books to go along with our upcoming Community Heroes theme (titles in future posts).  I put some in a basket and others along the windowsill.  While cooking dinner I found "M" curled up reading.

After dinner I put "Boo" down to bed, and came out to find that "M" had finished lining the rest of the books up along the kitchen windowsill.  She is developing such a love for books and enjoys having them all around.

And there was lots of play time (both organized and free).  I am really enjoying watching their imaginations bloom.

"Boo" was so proud of herself for climbing up on sister's bike.

Working hard!

Make-It-Monday: Football Baby Blanket

God is just pouring out his blessings on our family and friends.  I have so many baby showers coming up and figured I better get busy working on some gifts!  I saw this football blanket on Happy Together Creates and just had to make it.  You can download the pattern directly from her website.  All in all, it took about 2.5 hours (with a few interruptions from the kiddos) and was pretty easy.  I used brown fleece, Razorback printed cotten, and white felt.

I had to have another ultrasound for our baby today.  We always wait until the birth to find out whether it is a boy or a girl, but if it is a boy I will most definitely have to make another one of these blankets!

Tot School Tuesday: Ll is for Love

We have a special event coming up, so I have been busy cleaning and prepping and somehow missed blogging last week's tot school (which is alright because this week is a down week as we reset for our new Community Heroes unit).  But, I am tired and looking forward to crawling into bed, so this will be picture heavy!

LOVE SENSORY BIN
Most of this is from our Valentine Unit way back when, but the kiddos had a blast playing with it again!

LETTER Ll CRAFT
We used heart shaped "love" petals to glue onto the Letter "L"

LOVE LOLLIPOPS
Smash brownies (Betty Crocker GF mix) into heart shaped molds.  Add lollipop stick and enjoy!
