Road Schooling... I Spy Critters

Kids are naturally curious. If wiggles, hops, jumps, flies, or moves in any way (or if it is cute or weird looking) then are children are fascinated by it.  We love to take pictures of our surroundings, especially any critters we encounter. We then use field guides, books, and the Internet (when available) to identify our treasured finds and see what we can learn about them.

(Izzy the inchworm... She was a family pet for a bit at the campground)

The girls then draw pictures of their critters and occasionally will write about them in a notebook.  When we do get to a library we bring the notebook with us and decide what we want to learn more about.

What are some of your family's favorite critters?

Have you entered my contest to win a $100 Amazon Gift Card? Amazon carries some of our favorite field guides!
