Tot School Tuesday

On Tuesdays I am going to break from the Journey to 1,000 Blessings (although many of our blessings are related to me being a stay-at-home mom and training our children) to share what's going on in "Tot School".  A lot of my ideas and crafts come from http://1plus1plus1equals1.blogspot.com/.  What a wonderful
resource!

We are just finishing up our Winter Unit which was filled with snowmen and penguins - what fun!

Bible Verse:  Isaiah 1:18: "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be white as snow; Though they are red as crimson, They shall be like wool".

Favorite Books:
*Snowy, Blowy Winter by Bob Raczka
*Playful Little Penguins by Tony Mitton
*Penguins, Penguins, Everywhere! by Bob Barner

To welcome February I introduced our new sensory bin.  Makenzie loves these and the possibilities are endless.  We sort, stack, make choo choos, toss, and play for hours with our bins.

Today we made a penguin craft out of hearts (http://www.first-school.ws/tcraft/penguin_hearts_c.html).

  1. I love the winter/snow ideas! We just got a massive blizzard in Chicago so I was looking for some ideas to tie in for my 2 year old. Thanks for posting!

  3. Almost everything in the sensory bin came from Oriental Trading Company. And the porcupines were definitely a big hit with our daughter!
